Cockpit Hangry Pouch Set – the review

Just when you thought you don't need another bag for your BMW GS 1200/1250, Lone Rider has delivered the Cockpit Hangry Pouch Set.

A set of two small bags intended to store those little things that you like to keep handy on your bike.
You know the kind of stuff I'm talking about.
USB cable, credit cards, chocolate bars, keys and more. All the small stuff you lose all too easily – and annoyingly - in your tank bag, jacket or panniers.

A squashed Mars Bar, anyone?

Seriously, the Cockpit Hangry Pouch Set comes in rather handy.

Intended to be installed on the cockpit wind deflector on both sides of your bike, you get a left and a right version in the set, both easily attached via strong Velcro straps.

Installation takes only seconds, and removing the pouch from the bike is even faster. You get the idea. I suggest adding a zip tie to deter eager onlookers is maybe a good idea.

In typical Lone Rider fashion, the material used is as rigid as everything else you know from this brand.

CORDURA® Ballistic 1000D fabric and YKK® AquaGuard® Water Repellent Zippers are keeping your gear dry and safe. The Cockpit Hangry Pouch Set is padded adequately on the inside with the Lone Rider red liner so you can find things easily.
The storage volume for the bags is 500ml/0.26gal, enough to store five large chocolate bars. Big enough for your instant needs.

The position chosen for the bags is rather intelligent, utilising the space on your cockpit without jeopardising the overview of any instruments.

To be able to comfortably access the Cockpit Hangry Pouch is the most important feature. But with products like this, it’s often the most overlooked.

Think about it. You arrive on a Maut point (toll) looking for your payment card. Gloves off, tank bag open, root around to find it, and so on. There is nothing I dislike more, having to do this over and over again in the rain.

Having the Cockpit Hangry Pouch makes everything so much easier. Just grab and open the zipper, get your card, pay, put it back and close the zipper. And the pouch zipper is easily accessible without taking the gloves off. Very important.

How little things can change your life.

Just a side note, don't forget to take your card out of the pouch and keep it with you when you stop somewhere and leave your bike.

Coming to a Conclusion:

From all the many gadgets one can buy for the bike, the Cockpit Hangry Pouch Set from Lone Rider must be one of the more desirable and logical ones on the market. The sheer practicality makes it a must-have for me.
The icing on the cake would have been If you could fit your glasses inside one of these. Hint Andy!

These are the main points I like to describe the product. I've spent way more on stuff I've never used again.

The Mod:

Restless souls need things to do.

Using the Cockpit Hangry Pouch as a new daily, I felt very comfortable in its day-to-day use. I soon got used to it, leaning forward over my tank bag taking my payment card out whenever I needed it.
The other day I mounted my large tank bag and realised things getting a little more cumbersome.
Leaning over the big bag is not as easy but unavoidable.
Or is it?

The solution is to attach one of the Cockpit Hangry Pouches to the handlebar. By pure coincidence, the Velcro fits exactly around the mirror mounting point and the handlebar. Perfect.
Now I like it even more.
No more stretching, no more hanging over the tank bag. Riding in comfort.
